JMan Group of Companies Honoured at the 10th Annual African Ovation Awards
On the 25th of April 2026, something worth talking about happened in Freetown.
At the 10th Annual African Ovation Awards ceremony, held right here in the capital, JMan Group of Companies walked away with two of the evening's most distinguished recognitions — the Corporate Excellence Award and the Corporate Leadership Award. Each came with both a physical award and a certificate, presented by African Ovation Media Ltd. and signed by Editor-in-Chief, Lydia Thomas.
For a group that has spent years quietly doing the work, it was a night that felt long overdue.
A Decade of Recognition — What the African Ovation Awards Mean
The African Ovation Awards didn't just appear overnight. Since their founding in Freetown in 2016, they have spent a decade building credibility as one of Sierra Leone's most respected platforms for recognising genuine institutional and individual excellence. Honourees aren't picked based on who makes the most noise — they are selected because their work has made a measurable difference to Sierra Leone's social and economic development.
Reaching the 10th edition is itself a milestone. Being recognised at that edition, in your own city, means something.
The Corporate Excellence Award
The first recognition of the evening went to JMan Group of Companies as an institution.
The award was presented "in recognition of its commitment to providing quality products and exceptional customer service, innovation, job creation, and contribution to the socioeconomic growth of Sierra Leone in 2025 and 2026."
That citation is worth reading twice. It isn't about one big moment or a single headline. It is about the consistency of showing up — for clients, for employees, for the country — across multiple sectors, year after year. From insurance to security, petroleum to automotive services, the JMan Group has built something that Sierra Leone can point to and say: this is ours, and it works.

The Corporate Leadership Award
The second recognition was personal, and perhaps the more emotional of the two.
Amadu Kassim Jah, CEO of JMan Group of Companies, received the Corporate Leadership Award — presented "in appreciation of your outstanding leadership in the private sector, exceptional performance and exemplary service in the petroleum industry, and commitment to professional excellence."

The citation went further, noting that his "demonstrated commitment to making a significant impact in the petroleum industry has set a new benchmark for professional excellence in Sierra Leone."
Behind every institution is a person who refused to give up on the vision when it was inconvenient to keep going. For JMan Group, that person is Amadu Kassim Jah. This award was the continent's way of acknowledging that.

What This Means Going Forward
Two awards. Two certificates. One very clear message, that what JMan Group has been building is real, it is recognised, and it matters.
But if you know this group at all, you know that a trophy on the shelf is not the destination. It is a reminder of the standard that now has to be maintained and exceeded.
"We are honoured by this recognition," the JMan leadership shared. " But Sierra Leone deserves more from us, and we intend to deliver exactly that."
The work continues...
